When shopping subcompact SUVs, you have so many choices that you’ll never be able to test drive them all. The 2025 Chevy Trailblazer and 2025 Nissan Kicks are both strong options. Let’s examine the specs of each to determine which one comes out on top.
VS.
The Trailblazer comes in four trim levels, ranging from the wallet-friendly LS model to the fully-equipped RS. The Kicks comes in six configurations, from the entry-level S FWD to the top-of-the-line SR AWD. We’ll find most of what these vehicles have to offer somewhere in the middle, so let’s take a look at the standard features of the 2025 Chevy Trailblazer LT versus the 2025 Nissan Kicks SV AWD.
The Trailblazer has a zippy ECOTEC 1.3L Turbo engine, delivering 155 hp and 174 lb-ft torque. 9-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive puts you in control of a smooth ride. With an estimated fuel economy of 26 MPG city / 29 MPG highway, the Trailblazer is efficient without sacrificing power.
The Kicks has a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine under the hood for 141 hp and 140 lb-ft torque. Featuring a continuously variable transmission (CVT), all-wheel drive and an estimated 27 MPG city / 34 MPG highway, the Kicks is also a respectable pick.
In short, both the Trailblazer and Kicks are capable performers in most circumstances.
The Chevy Trailblazer has an impressive lineup of safety features. Standard driver-assistance features include HD rear vision camera, forward collision alert, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, following distance indicator, automatic emergency braking, and more.
The Nissan Kicks is no slouch either when considering safety. The Kicks comes with a driver assist package that includes forward and rear collision prevention systems, brake assist, auto high beams, blind spot warning, lane departure warning, and more.
If you prefer a comfortable interior with thoughtful features, you’ll probably like the Trailblazer. Open the doors and you’ll discover a 6-way adjustable driver seat, 40/60 split-folding rear seat, 8-inch color driver information center, and more. The infotainment system features a 6-speaker audio system with amplifier, 11-inch HD color touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability, and too many amenities to list here.
We have no major complaints about the Kicks’s interior. With a 6-way adjustable driver seat, 60/40 rear folding seat, and cloth upholstery, the cabin is both comfortable and functional. 4-speaker audio, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility and more comprise a nice enough infotainment setup.
Chevrolet is highly regarded for their stylish, comfortable and capable vehicles. The 2025 Trailblazer lives up to the reputation. The 2025 Nissan Kicks is also a solid pick. You can’t go wrong with either, but in our opinion, the Chevy Trailblazer pulls out ahead.
