When it comes to pickup trucks, you have a few solid options to choose from. The 2025 Chevy Silverado 1500 and 2025 Ram 1500 are both good choices. Let’s take a look at the pros and cons of each to see how they compare.

The Silverado comes in nine trims, ranging from the entry-level WT model to the top-of-the-line ZR2. The RAM 1500 comes in nine configurations, from the affordable Tradesman to the high-end Tungsten. We’ll find most of what these vehicles have to offer a few steps up from the base model, so let’s examine the standard features of the 2025 Chevy Silverado LT versus the 2025 Ram 1500 Big Horn Crew Cab 4×4.
The Silverado boasts a zippy TurboMax engine, delivering 310 hp, 430 lb-ft of torque and a towing capacity of 9,500 lbs (up to 13,300 lbs at higher-end V8 configurations). Four-wheel drive, 8-speed automatic transmission with overdrive and tow/haul mode gives you responsive performance with intuitive handling and control. With an estimated fuel economy of 17 MPG city / 20 MPG highway, the Silverado strikes a good balance between power and efficiency.
The RAM 1500 has a 3.6L V6 engine under the hood for 305 hp, 269 lb-ft torque and a towing capacity of up to 6,370 (up to 11,550 with some higher-end trims and configurations). Featuring four-wheel drive, an 8-speed automatic transmission and an estimated 19 MPG city / 24 MPG highway, the 1500 is also a practical option.
On the whole, both the Silverado and RAM 1500 are very good performers in most circumstances.
The Chevy Silverado is equipped with an impressive bundle of safety features. Standard driver-assistance features include HD rear vision camera with hitch guidance, forward collision alert, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, and electronic stability control system with traction control, brake assist, trailer sway control, and hill start assist.
The Ram 1500 is no slouch either when considering safety. The RAM 1500 comes with a driver assist package that includes stability control with anti-rollover, blind spot detection warning, forward collision warning, brake assist, distance pacing cruise control, and more.
If you prefer an inviting interior that is well-equipped but not distracting, you’ll probably like the Silverado. Behind its attractive exterior styling is 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar, 40/20/40 split-bench front seat with under-seat storage, heated steering wheel with mounted controls, 12.3-inch driver information center, dual-zone automatic climate control and more. The infotainment system features 6-speaker audio, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 13.4-inch multitouch display with Google built-in, and all the conveniences you’ve come to expect from a well-equipped vehicle.
We have no major complaints about the RAM 1500’s interior. With 4-way adjustable driver and front passenger seats, single-zone manual air conditioning, and cloth upholstery, the cabin is both comfortable and functional. 6-speaker audio, AM/FM/satellite-prep radio, Bluetooth connectivity, voice activated audio controls and more add up to a sufficient infotainment setup.
Chevrolet is known for rugged American styling, craftsmanship, value, and power. The 2025 Silverado upholds the reputation. The 2025 Ram 1500 is also a solid pick. Both are excellent, but in our opinion, the Chevy Silverado takes the win.
